You may have noticed that over the last couple days a new social connect icon appeared in the right sidebar. Ovation Press now has a profile on Google+. The social networking site, which only a couple months ago released its “brand” pages, has become quite influential in the social sphere.
While there are many social media sites out there, Google+ seems to have a special resonance with musicians. One of the coolest features that it offers is something called hangouts, which allows for group video sessions (something you are required to pay for in Skype.) Daria Musk, a singer and songwriter, used Google hangouts to reach a global audience spanning hundreds of thousands of people.
