Gemma Slack is a freelance writer and editor, formerly with Time-Life Books. Although she earned degrees in journalism and political science, her life-long passion is classical music, having begun piano studies as a 5-year-old, and cello studies as an adult. She has two children, both of whom are cellists, and she is an avid supporter of their youth and school orchestra programs. Gemma and her family (including her saxophonist husband) make their home in Bethesda, Maryland.
Gemma has experience as a Suzuki cello teacher and is involved in the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra which her children attend.
